This guys colors were actually inspired by a fish I saw on my dive!
So should I create a new species? I'll call it a Keernak (I'll probably change that name). Does it need to be more unique? Would you make one?
This guy right here is Twitch! He's the first one I made
They're very small, very curious creatures that make excellent pets. At about 1 to 2 feet long in size they are easy to care for. They are very brightly colored, and they use their long tails to help balance and also wrap around things they're standing on, such as a tree branch or a human arm. Females are slightly smaller than males. Keernak are very clean: they groom themselves often. Favorite foods include various fish and fruits. They may take a while to warm up to humans, but once they do they are very loyal and love to curl up beside you or on your lap. When happy, they make a soft humming noise. When excited or startled, they make a quick chattering sound. When scared or hurt, a sharp shriek. They walk/hop around on their back legs and use their wings to balance when just standing, and have excellent hearing and eyesight. Their ears are very expressive, and swivel around like a dogs'.

I think this would actually make a very good new species. Its proportions and features are very interesting and origional in a unique way. I feel the colors could maybe use a little bit more contrast like in the face and wings just to give it a little more pop. Other than that i think this is a job well done my friend and i look forward to seeing more Keernak drawings from you. I think you should keep the name of the species Keernak its very unique and interesting just like your drawing. Keep up the great art work
